At Translators and Interpreters Australia, we’re committed to ensuring language service professionals get the respect, recognition and reward they deserve.
During the past decade, there has been a relentless push to outsource vital work to drive down costs: putting a squeeze on quality, reliability, and professionalism.
We bring translators and interpreters together not only to work for better wages and to ensure your rights are protected, but to help resolve these issues facing your profession.
By getting involved in our campaigns to improve Australia’s language services and strengthen the voice of your profession, we can work together to build the case for greater reward.
The more of us there are, the stronger we are.
In 2017, we achieved our biggest win with the Victorian Government announcing it will commit $21.8 million over the forward estimates to ensure the sustainability and quality of Victoria’s language services.
This was a historic moment for translators and interpreters in Victoria, and hopefully, this budget will set a precedent for other states to follow.
