SHAME ON ONCALL - TRANSLATORS & INTERPRETERS DESERVE MORE
As of 1 November, language service provider OnCall slashed the rates of Translators and Interpreters in Queensland without any consultation.
T/I's across Queensland are rightfully outraged and are coming together to say that enough is enough.
If we are to see T/I's paid fairly for their work, we need an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with OnCall. To do this, we need T/I's to join Translators and Interpreters Australia. Can you do this? If you are already a member of TIA, can you ask a fellow T/I to join?
We also need the majority of T/Is across Queensland to sign our petition for better wages and conditions. If the majority of T/Is sign this petition, TIA will able to compel employers like OnCall to negotiate better wages and conditions via an EBA.
We have over 100 signatures on this petition, but if we are to win this fight, we need many more. Can you commit to signing this petition and asking your colleagues to do the same?
TIA Members have made some significant steps forward in 2018 and will continue to campaign hard in 2019. To keep up the pressure it is vital that more T/I's across Queensland join Translators and Interpreters Australia to take control of their working lives.
